What is Shokken?

Shokken is a waitlist management app designed for restaurant hosts. Instead of traditional pagers or buzzers, restaurants can send notifications directly to customers’ emails and phones when their tables are ready.

Testing Approach

This is exploratory testing – no specific instructions. Use the app naturally and see what feels intuitive and what doesn’t. Test on whatever Android device you have; we want to know how Shokken performs across different devices and Android versions.

Alpha Stage Expectations

Shokken is in very early alpha, so expect rough edges. We’re planning a significant UI overhaul during this testing phase, so your feedback about the user experience is crucial. Don’t hold back – if something looks unfinished or could be improved, that’s exactly what we need to know.

How to Report

Use the GitHub issue tracker for all feedback. Don’t worry about filling out every detail – at this stage, an incomplete issue report is better than none at all. GitHub is our main communication hub where you’ll find updates, discussions, and can ask questions.

Ongoing Process

This isn’t a one-time test. As new builds are released with fixes and improvements, you’ll be notified through GitHub for another round of testing. There’s no fixed end date – we’ll keep iterating based on your feedback until ready for the next phase.

Remember: there are no stupid questions or reports. Sometimes the most important insights come from unexpected places.

Happy testing!
